The pandemic gave the artist a chance to re-examined the relationship between herself and the homeland. Inspired by Baudelaires’s description of flaneur, Yan wandered around her hometown and made psychogeography maps and series of works that record the journey. This process explored the personal experiences that shape the connection to the land, considering how memories influence the perception of places and landscapes.
